Yoga Resources
Jogastories
As a primary school teacher of 20 years and a yoga specialist for 17, I wanted to develop a tool to bring yoga to a wider audience of educators. This would enable teachers, early-years specialists, child minders, parents and anyone wishing to enhance learning, to facilitate yoga without previous experience in the practice. Yoga is known to help children develop self-regulation strategies and supports emotional well-being. With the combination of breathing techniques, physical activity and relaxation strategies, yoga can provide a powerful tool-kit in combating stress.
This interactive resource also enables children to access aspects of the curriculum through physical, expressive movement, which supports engagement and retention of learning. In many schools, curriculum subjects are often delivered by means of written tasks, which can limit accessibility to certain learners. Jogastories are therefore very effective, when supporting children with ASD/SLD/SEMH and those with other barriers to learning. I feel passionate about children’s well-being and feel that Jogastories offer a great platform to support this, I hope you will to!
How can Jogastories Help Me?
Need lesson ideas?
Jogastories aim to provide a solution to all your teaching needs. No more need to think of lesson ideas which are topical, child-centred, educational and fun. We have developed a repertoire of lesson ideas, all tried and tested with pre-school and primary aged children.
Would a ready- made lesson sequence save you time?
With 5 yoga cards in each story, Jogastories provide you with a complete lesson sequence. Each card comes with vibrant graphics and both Sanskrit and name English labels. Lesson sequences are linked to familiar themes, such as festivals and celebrations i.e. Diwali. So you don’t even need to know what’s topical; we’ll do that for you.
Would you like a solution to help display yoga cards easily?
Propping up yoga cards can be tricky, and sticking them on the wall can damage surfaces. Jogastories offer you a solution to this problem. Our story sequences come with a purpose built, portable flip chart. This enables users to view the complete story sequence, all in one place. Attached with easy to use ring binders, an interactive function is enabled. Once they have mastered the lesson sequence provided, children can flip random cards over to create their own new sequence.
How about some guidance on teaching the above?
No need to worry about subject knowledge for these lessons. Each of our story sequences comes with tailor made, easy to use lesson plans. These plans will help you navigate through the sequence, with a supporting story script, plus instruction and health benefits for each pose. We have included a simple user guide, to help you structure your lesson too.

Jogastories Digital
This option enables facilitators to present to larger groups with increased visual accessibility e.g. teachers in a class of 30, by means of slides presented via an interactive whiteboard or projector. Each of the 4 stories: Diwali, Chinese New Year, The Nativity Story and The Gunpowder Plot are available for download. The stories consist of 5 slides-each containing a pose and the relevant story script. This option also supports Literacy as individual children can be invited to read the story captions aloud, whilst their classmates perform each pose. The teacher meantime, can refer to the lesson plan to demonstrate correct alignment and to outline the benefits of each pose. Supplementary materials are also provided, should you wish to expand your sessions. This includes links and suggestions for music, meditations and creative activities, all based on the 4 topics.
